Why work with an AAMFT-Approved Supervisor in Clinical Supervision?

You’re hoping to learn more and hone your craft as a therapist, and likely count hours while you do so. Working with an AAMFT-Approved Supervisor means working with a clinical supervisor who has gone through intensive training, including coursework, mentorship, and supervised supervision to offer a high-quality learning experience for supervisees. An AAMFT Approved Supervisor Designation is the highest and most prestigious designation in the Marriage and Family Therapy Field.

Why should I work with you?

I love people, learning, and being a therapist. I’m excited to foster that love in others. I take the maintenance and growth of my professional practice seriously and am enthusiastic about sharing ideas with fellow clinicians. My goal is to support folks as they connect the how-tos of therapy with their values and needs as humans to find their clinical voice. And, of course, I’ll support your growth in ethics and practical skills, too.

I work from a Solution Focused Therapy lens and have deep roots in Narrative Therapy practice, which means we can be focused on you, your growth and values. If you are hoping to learn more about EMDR and gain EMDR consultation hours towards certification, we can weave that into your supervision process. If you’d like to learn more about engaging with integrative practices such as somatic therapies and parts work, we can do that, too. We will certainly discuss human and child development, neurodiversity, family systems, and accessibility in therapy, as well as keeping tabs on how race, ethnicity and social location impact our client’s experiences, and our experiences of them. We will take a systemic lens to the challenges our clients face, working on shifting the focus from one ‘identified patient’ to understanding the family, social, and cultural patterns that reinforce challenges, and often, solutions. We will discuss case consultations, special interest topics, career goals, ethics questions, and preparation for licensure.

Can I consult with you for supervision if I’m already licensed/not an MFT?

Yes, and yes! I also consult with licensed clinicians and would love to support you. If you are not an MFT, but a Social Worker or LPC, and would like supervision from a systemic, family therapy perspective, I’m happy to welcome you to supervision. Get in touch to discuss the details and we’ll go from there!

What does supervision look like?

I provide individual, triadic, and group supervision.

Group supervision is 2 hours long, limited to 6 supervisees per group, currently taking place on Tuesday mornings from 10AM-12PM.

Triadic supervision is limited to 2 supervisees per hour.

A sliding scale is offered for MFT supervision. License to Freedom alumni are provided a discount. Contact me for rates.

California AMFTs: The BBS requires an agreement/contract to be established between me and your place of work in order to provide supervision. We can chat to figure out if this is an appropriate path for your supervision needs. Find more information about requirements here.

I’m available to work with therapists nationally, through telehealth and in-person at my Havertown, PA office.
