Building Resilience: Connection, Communication, and Community

Meg Rogers

Abstract

Centering post-modern therapy values, feminist theory, and Quaker concepts of respect and honoring the knowledge and experience of ourselves and others, this presentation provides methods, information, and actionable steps to put community members in touch with their own resilience, and the resilience of those around them. Emphasis on using resilience and respectful space to engage in conversation to build meaningful connection around topics where people do not, or will not, see eye to eye, without losing hope of creating safety, wellness, peace, and meaningful experience for larger communities, and smaller groups. Breakout groups and reflective questions as well as experiential exercises provided throughout the presentation.
